Smoked Salmon & Chicken Combo
8:16:00 pm
It's been a long time since I've woken up for breakfast. I'm not a morning person so to wake up for breakfast everyday is something that you wouldn't see or hear from me. Ever. Haha! Went out to meet up one of dear my friend F to catch up. We initially wanted to eat Wet Kue Tiaw but have no idea which eatery makes the best and opened at 9am so we ended up here at Countrypatch. It was so nice, so fun to see her again and we had alot to talk about for just haven't seeing eachother for 3 weeks! Our lives are such dramas I guess that daily contact is not enough sometimes to tell the tale and even going to Countrypatch for breakfast was a tale to tell! Let's just say a small, furry, black tale? I hope the cafe had handled the problem! Banartah!
Countrypatch has 1 main at Kiulap and 1 other branch at Times Square, Serusop. I usually go there just for breakfast and seriously this is the only place I go that I can think of (because I don't get breakfast much) in the morning other than our usual murtabak/roti canai joints here in Brunei. It is famous for its BND5 American Breakfast set (choose 4 items from the designated menu with a choice of coffee/tea/milo/orange juice) so yeah I mostly go there for that. Not that there's anything special with the set other than the price, but I do commend them for their perfect execution on the whole thing; no burnt sausages/pancakes/toasts/eggs/grilled tomatoes and always giving the same taste over, and over, and over, and over. So it's a no brainer that most people go to their place for their breakfast. Not to mention they get it done fast as well.
Their cafe is nice as well; I remembered being there when they just opened a week on Mother's Day and being so awed with their hard effort on their interior that I just couldn't bare to leave the place. And I have to say they were the first frontiers of good looking eateries with clean and nice toilets. Haha!
I was pretty baffled that they were trying to sell us Indomee with fried chicken for BND6? Or was it BND4? Man. I never ordered that thing. Ever. I mean I could have 10 packets with BND4. I love their scones there though (cause they give you cream and jam) and my brother can't seem to miss out and order their mushroom soup whenever I go there with him.

As for our choice of food we went out of the usual today because well, having too much of one thing can make you sick of it? Hahah.. I had the English Muffin with hash-brown and smoked salmon filled with cream cheese; F ordered I think it was wrapped/rolled chicken sandwich of some sort? with fries.
My english muffin had..perfectly cooked eggs but they were..bland for my taste..Good thing I added the salmon in (add on: BND2). It wouldn't hurt them to add pepper I think but I guess I need to request for it next time. As for F's food, haha I didn't ask how hers tasted so yeah..
Good food, tasty drinks and a relaxing environment. I don't think I would wanna spend more than $10 on my breakfast alone everyday especially when you're not working nor are you a uni student. But the scene is nice so yeah..Hehe.
