Jakarta Thoughts

2 days ago I went to Jakarta and just jalan-jalan at their malls. Well, namely I went to Grand Indonesia Mall, Central Park Mall and Taman Anggrek Mall. I went to Jakarta because I had a sole mission: to give Amin his Maggi Laksa. Haha. Au banar. I wanted to give him his Maggi because batah sudah in my possession. Resahku so I want him to have it and be done with it. Alhamdulillah I gave it to him lah ah. Hahah. So anyways our first mall was Grand Indonesia Mall and I gotta say, DAMN. Selama ani I haven't seen the city of Indonesia lah ah.

Okay, selama I went to Indonesia which was like, 4 times; I've always went to the places of the likes of Mangga Dua, Pasar Baru and Senayan City. All are totally opposite worlds: cheap and alot of it not my style while the other is too expensive like shit I couldn't afford. So when I first entered Grand Indonesia Mall I was like, Omg. That's freaking large and every store I love is in there! And they were so many people I love it! I thought to myself now THAT'S SHOPPING! It felt like Singapore and seriously I don't understand why Indonesians would go outside of their country to shop. They got it all right here! Even my friends said something similar; how refreshing it is to go around here, how all the people in there looks like celebrities and how awesome the stuff were. It was Imlek (CNY) so there were alot of sales as well and omg, I see shopping in Indonesia in a new light now. The malls we went to did not disappoint.

My driver while I was travelling with my parents here last time said a lot has changed in Indonesia especially the central city. It's cleaner now, there's more order and services; and also it's just nicer now. All because of the president and I gotta say, he's right. The clean up around Monas I've got to say a right thing to do because you see the city as a city now; cleaner. The buses having orders now etc. It's cool.

It's expensive of course, what with the pajak (building taxes) and service taxes when you eat outside but honestly though I do not see Indonesia as it was now that I've seen the city. It opened my eyes and seriously I cannot wait to shop around there. Hahah.
